OpenSUSE Leap 15: Install Android Studio 3.1

This article will describe installing Android Studio 3.1.

1 Install Android Studio

Install Android Studio with the following script.

     libstdc++6-32bit zlib-devel-32bit wget

# Install Android Studio.

sudo unzip -q android-studio-ide-173.4819257-linux.zip -d /opt/
rm -f android-studio-ide-173.4819257-linux.zip

# Create desktop file for Android Studio.
sudo mkdir -p /usr/local/share/applications
cat <<EOF | sudo tee /usr/local/share/applications/android-studio.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Android Studio
Icon=/opt/android-studio/bin/studio.png
Exec=/opt/android-studio/bin/studio.sh
Terminal=false
Categories=Development;IDE;
EOF

# Add user to kvm group.
sudo gpasswd -a "${USER}" kvm

# Reboot for kvm.
sudo reboot

2 Run Android Studio

Run android-studio.desktop at the launcher or run the following command at the terminal.

> /opt/android-studio/bin/studio.sh
